Instagram Grid Maker
Split one photo into a 3, 6, 9, 12 or 15 post grid, or a seamless carousel panorama. Free and private.
Tiles export at 1080 px wide as JPG (92% quality), named 01, 02, 03 in posting order. The shaded edges are hidden by the 3:4 profile grid.
About this tool
Post tile 1 first and the highest number last. Instagram puts your newest post top-left, so the tiles are numbered from the bottom-right corner backwards. The files are named 01, 02, 03 in that order. Unpin any pinned posts first, or they will sit in front of your grid.
The Instagram profile grid now shows every post as a 3:4 preview. A 4:5 post loses a thin strip on the left and right, and a square 1:1 post loses much more. That is why 4:5 (1080 x 1350) is the default here. The shaded edges in the editor show what the grid hides, so keep faces and text away from them.
Each tile is exported at 1080 px wide, the size Instagram displays, as a JPG at 92% quality. Start with a large photo (at least 3240 px wide for a 3-column grid) so you are not zooming into a small image. Avoid re-saving the tiles in other apps before posting.
Choose Carousel, set the number of slides, and upload all files in one post in number order. Wide landscape shots work best. Keep the main subject away from the cut lines so nothing important is split across a swipe.
No. The photo is read and split inside your browser with the canvas API. It never touches our server.
