What does “link in bio” mean on Facebook?
It means the link is on the person's profile or Page, not in the post (here is what “link in bio” means on every app). On Facebook that usually means the website listed in the Intro box or on the About tab.
Here is the odd part: links in regular Facebook posts are clickable. So why do Facebook creators say “link in bio” at all? Mostly because the post started life somewhere else. Reels made for Instagram are often shared to Facebook with the same caption, and that caption says “link in bio”. Sometimes the link is on the creator's Facebook profile. Sometimes it is only on their Instagram.
If you post the same Reels to both apps, add the same link to both profiles. That way “link in bio” is true wherever the Reel is watched, and nobody has to go hunting on a second app. It also means one page to update instead of two.
How to find the link in bio on Facebook
On a personal profile
- Tap the person's name or profile photo on the post.
- Look at the Intro section under their photo and cover. A website, if they added one, is listed there with a globe or link icon.
- No link in the Intro? Tap See About info (or the About tab) and look under Contact info or Websites and social links.
On a Facebook Page
Open the Page and check the Intro box, which on phones sits just below the Page buttons. Businesses usually list their website there. The About tab shows it too, along with phone, email and address.
On a computer
On facebook.com the Intro box sits in the left column of a profile, below the cover photo. The About tab is in the row of tabs under the name, next to Posts and Photos.
Still cannot find it?
If the post is a Reel shared from Instagram, the link may only exist on the creator's Instagram profile. Tap their name, check whether they link their Instagram, and look there. Facebook's menus move around between app versions, so labels may differ slightly on your phone.
How to add a link in bio to your Facebook profile or Page
- Build the page first. Create a free Biolinko page and copy its address, biolinko.me/yourname.
- Profile: go to your profile, tap Edit profile, then edit your Intro or About info. Under Contact info or Websites and social links, add a website and paste your address. Set it to Public so everyone can see it.
- Page: open your Page as admin, go to the Page's Intro or About section, edit the details and paste the address into Website.
- Save, then view your profile as a visitor (or ask a friend) to check the link shows in the Intro.
- Mention it in your bio text too, for example “Order, prices and hours: link below”, so people know it is worth a tap.
Recommended Facebook link in bio page setup
Facebook audiences skew local and community-minded: people find you through groups, events and shared posts. Build the page around that. Blocks, top to bottom:
- Header with the same photo as your Facebook profile or Page.
- Announcement bar for what is happening now: “Diwali stall this Saturday, Stall 12”.
- Event block for your next event, workshop or live session, with an add-to-calendar button.
- Link buttons to your Facebook Group, your latest album or listing, and your website.
- Social post embed of your best Facebook post, so visitors from Instagram or WhatsApp see your community.
- WhatsApp chat or Contact form. Many Facebook users would rather message than fill in a checkout; contact form messages are emailed to you.
- Map if people visit you in person.
- Share this page button, so members can pass your page into their own groups and chats.
If most of your sales happen in chat, follow our WhatsApp link in bio setup instead.
Running Facebook ads to your link in bio page
If you boost posts or run Meta ads, Biolinko Pro lets you add your Meta pixel to your page, alongside Google Analytics 4, Google Tag Manager and other pixels, so you can measure what ad visitors do next. Pro is $5/month (₹299 in India) or $89 (₹4,999) once for lifetime. Even on Free, your analytics show which clicks came from Facebook as a referrer, and the free UTM Link Builder lets you tag your profile link and your group posts separately.
Do you even need a link in bio page on Facebook?
Not always. Because Facebook post links are clickable, a one-off promotion can link straight to the product. And a Facebook Page already carries your phone, hours and reviews. A link in bio page earns its place when you are active on several platforms and want one address that works everywhere: your Instagram bio, your WhatsApp Business profile, your Facebook Intro and your printed flyers. Update the page once, and every one of those links is current.
